Todos Santos Travel Guide: Reviews, photos, & videos
Drive about an hour north on Highway 19 an you know what you’ll find - the pristine, almost magical coastal surf town of Todos Santos. Located at the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains on the Pacific Coast side of the Baja California Peninsula, Todos Santos was originally founded as a mission by father Jamie Bravo way back in 1723. Over time the rich land began to be developed by farmers and ranchers into profitable farmland with crops like avocado, papaya and mangos sprouting up in plentiful droves. And more recently, Todos Santos has witnessed a dramatic uptick in tourism thanks to its unbelievable beaches ideal for surfing and quaint but welcoming town center that has undergone some dynamic redevelopment.
And with this recent boom in the Todos Santos real estate, the amount of options for prospective buyers seeking a Todos Santos vacation home or a beach rental in Todos Santos are quite plentiful. Check out the lovely (and recently redeveloped) town in Todos Santos and explore the local art museums such as Centro Cultural which boast artifacts from years past and paintings that showcase promising local artists of the future. For the budding fisherman or fisherwoman, Todos Santos is well known for its amazing fishing. Whether it’s Marlin, Yellowtail, Dorado, Swordfish or some wild Wahoo, fishing in Todos Santos never disappoints. And don’t forget about the surfing. With numerous beautiful beaches within 30 minutes of Todos Santos, surfers of all ages and skill levels should find some dynamite and dynamic waves to carve. Playa Las Palmas is a great beach for relaxing, swimming, tanning and shell collecting while Los Cerritos is great for all of the above in addition to being a huge draw for surfers from all over the world looking to hit some sweet waves.
